Diesel Hall was packed with people, guitar hum, and anticipation. Voronezh’s “Rock Family of the Black Earth Region” was celebrating its birthday, and five bands took the stage to offer their own kind of congratulations.

The evening was opened by SOEVUS from Stary Oskol. Their music exists without genres and “moods, ” inspired by an unusual name. The band fundamentally refuses to be defined by any framework, blending everything from the Beatles to Sepultura, and they do it purely for the creative thrill.

They were followed by Moscow’s PRESTOL with melodic metal, fierce and relentless. Extreme vocals, catchy guitar riffs, and lyrics that challenge the grey routine turned their performance into a real test of endurance for eardrums.

The baton was picked up by the band “Pohishchenie” (The Abduction) from Moscow, playing alternative and punk. Punchy rhythms, driving vocals, and juicy riffs turned their set into a Brazilian carnival, with room for both cheerful sadness and cosmic madness.

Next, the stage was seized by Belgorod’s “Stary Revolver” (Old Revolver) — the brightest representatives of heavy music in the Black Earth Region. Their honest lyrics and swinging riffs at the intersection of metal and hardcore created a concentrated adrenaline rush that left no one indifferent.

The finale of the evening belonged to Voronezh’s Crocodile Spears. Energetic hardcore and nu-metal with a dense guitar sound and expressive vocals grab you from the first second. And when they switched to ballads, it became clear: these crocodiles know not only how to cut hard, but also how to touch your soul.

This was my first time working with the “Rock Family, ” and I immediately felt that very drive-filled atmosphere they talk about. These shots are my view of an evening when music unites stronger than any words.
